Denver Public Schools Debt Clock

The current debt value is calculated by multiplying the cost of a student ($16,300 in 2023) by the declining number of students, combined with the district's initial operational deficit of $75,306,000. The clock updates by spreading the annual student loss (1,338) over the course of a year which results in an annual debt increase of $21,809,400.
